Week 1: Risk assessment, during this week participants will:
- Gain a deeper understanding of the complexity and uncertainty of climate change, climate risk and what this means in the context of the global investment landscape
- Embrace new climate risk terms and develop a shared purpose and language around climate risk at Ninety One
- Explore the challenges associated with measuring a complex combination of climate risks (transition, physical, sovereign, other macro related risks, etc)
- Understand that 'business as usual' is no longer an option.
Weeks 2 & 3: Risk pricing and risk integration, by the end of the programme participants will be able to:
-Apply key concepts and methodologies to integrate climate risk into your decision making
-Understand the emerging trends with regards to regulatory/monetary/fiscal policy.
-Carry out scenario analysis, valuation and industry weighting
-Anticipate how key trends may affect the value of assets and liabilities of companies and industries through a more forward-thinking, scenario-based approach.
